Maria-Jesus Inostroza is a Chilean teacher of English, storyteller and researcher, who has been working in primary English teaching for 15 years. She works as a lecturer and teacher educator at the ELT programme at Universidad de Concepción, and she is an active member of the Network of Chilean Researchers in ELT (RICELT) and one of the IATEFL YLT SIG Events Coordinators.
Her teaching experience in the Chilean educational system motivates her commitment with state-run education and teaching English to young learners. Thus, her areas of specialization are Primary English Language Teaching in state-run education, linguistics rights and the use of storytelling to enhance children’s language learning experiences. She also holds a PhD in English Language and Linguistics and an MA in Applied Linguistics with TESOL (University of Sheffield, UK).
