Janette Cifuentes is a teacher of English graduated from Universidad del Bío Bío. She was distinguished as Leader of the South in 2017 by the newspaper El Sur, alumni of the United States Department of State.
She was winner of Universidad del Bío Bío 2019 award.
Janette worked for two years as an English teacher at The Wessex School Chillán, supporting the development of the English language through student-centered sessions, and during 2020 she took on the responsibility of head of the school's English Department.
Currently, Janette lives in the city of Concepción and works for the TECHO para Chile foundation as Education Coordinator, implementing and accompanying the operation of the Techo Para Aprender program, an educational space led by residents of vulnerable communities together with volunteers from the foundation, who through playful learning and reading comprehension, can support the development of social-emotional skills of children and adolescents.
